Hi, I'm Tobi!
I'm a Senior Digital Product Designer currently designing XYZ Reality's Augmented Reality tools which are disrupting the construction industry.
I am passionate about exploring the intersection of design and technology, focusing on innovation and impact. My cross-disciplinary background in Innovation Design Engineering, Process Design, Metal and Construction work, and Sound Design enables me to build products and services that seamlessly integrate into the physical and digital worlds.
I hold an MA & MSc in Innovation Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London, where I honed my expertise in Innovation Design and Human-Centered Design. The program taught me valuable skills to navigate ambiguous spaces, conduct experiments, and test with users throughout the design process. It also emphasized the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration, which has become a cornerstone of my approach.
Prior to pursuing my Masters, I completed a BA in Post-Industrial Designer (Process Design) at HyperWerk in Switzerland. During this time, I focused on designing and developing virtual reality (VR) applications, exploring how spatial computing can enhance the design process and education. This diverse educational journey has equipped me with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new challenges, allowing me to approach projects from a well-rounded perspective.
With eight years of training and professional experience as a metal worker and construction manager, I possess a deep understanding of designing new spaces and retrofitting existing ones in both the public and private sectors. This background has instilled in me a keen attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a knack for timely project execution.
In my free time, I channel my creativity to sound design. I'm fascinated by the emotional energy that sounds can release and the universal language of music that transcends cultural boundaries.
